Fall is here and with it brings cooler temperatures, and less fishing pressure and lots of bass that are feeding up before winter sets in. The bass are biting and the weather is great, today Darryl Pope from  Houston fished with me and we boated over 70 bass most of the bass we are catching are small but a lot of fun and nonstop action, fishing in the last few days has been great for numbers. Water temperatures are in the mid 70's and water clarity is fairly clear on most of the main lake and clear to stained in the back of some of the creeks.

Bast baits for me have been a shad colored lip less crank bait and a Spinner bait. The spinner bait that works best for me this time of year is a Stanley ¼ oz Chartreuse & White Colorado Willow Nickel and gold blades. The areas we are fishing the Spinner bait have been points and pockets on the main lake and half way back in the creeks, there is a lot of Shad in these areas right now. This time of year I have my best luck fishing a Spinner bait fast, keeping the bait just under the surface these bass are coming up and killing the bait. Most of the bass we are catching are suspended and pushing shad to the top.

Good places to try right now are the mouth of Wolf Creek, Chaney Branch, the 515 east and west roadbeds also the 154 and the 2946 roadbeds are always good this time of year. It’s a great time of year to be on the water the weather is beautiful, and the fishing is Great.
